STORAGE CONDITIONS

Before first use

All insulin formulations should be stored in a refrigerator at 36° to 46°F (2°-8°C) to keep their quality until the expiration date. Max temperature 46°F (8°C ). Should never allow to freeze.

USE CONDITIONS

After first use

Insulin can be stored at room temperature below 77°F or 86°F (25°C or 30°C) if used between 10 days-8 weeks. Max temperature: 77°F or 86°F (25-30 °C). Should never allow to freeze. Should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Some insulin pens should not be placed back in the fridge after first use.

VIVI Cap does not require any maintenance, there is no need to charge it or to place it in the fridge. After initially fitting it to your insulin pen with one of the supplied adaptors, simply use it as your pen cap. It fits most of the prefilled insulin pens. There is a VIVI Cap available for refillable insulin pens as well.

VIVI Cap doesn’t have to be placed in the fridge. The VIVI Cap patented CLICK-N-GO™ technology incorporates innovative space-grade insulation with a unique heat exchanger.It automatically absorbs the excess heat, releasing it to the environment when ambient temperature is normal. It can be placed in the fridge to accelerate the heat release, but without the insulin pen.

 

No, VIVI Cap does not have a rechargeable battery and does not depend on electrical power to function.The battery in the device runs the temperature sensor and the light indicator and with proper use, can last for many years.

VIVI Cap protects the insulin from overheating or freezing from the moment you take it out of the refrigerator until the end of use, everyday for years. With every new pen you start to use, replace the pen cap with VIVI Cap. Click-n-GoTM – no maintenance is required.
Insulin in use that is exposed to hot or freezing temperatures can be damaged and spoiled. Damaged insulin is not visible to the naked eye.
Insulin in use that is exposed to temperatures above 86° F or below freezing can be damaged and unsafe.This can result in fluctuating glucose levels and can be life threatening causing: -Blood glucose fluctuations -Increased insulin dosages -Risk of hypoglycemia
UNOPENED insulin stored in the refrigerator is good until the expiration date printed on the insulin box. However, be aware that injecting refrigerated insulin can be very painful. Insulin in use should be kept at room temperature; 59 degrees F – 77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C] for 28 days. That’s why its important to protect your insulin with the VIVI Cap.
You can clean the exterior and interior of VIVI Cap by wiping it with a medical swab. When cleaning the interior, be careful not to tear off the internal temperature sensor (looks like a tiny black dot inside).
